Heavy duty retractable solar mount

Fence & wall mounted plug-in solar bracket for full-size panels.

A heavy duty retractable solar panel mounting system designed for UK plug-in solar projects, full-size solar panels, microinverters, fence posts and suitable wall mounting.

Built to fold out for solar generation and fold back when you need access, this mount is designed for practical UK homes where space, access and appearance all matter.

Built around practical everyday plug-in solar use.

Most solar panel brackets are designed either for roofs or fixed permanent installations. This mount is different. It has been designed around the practical realities of UK plug-in solar, smaller domestic generation and homes where a roof-mounted system may not be the right option.

The bracket folds out to a useful solar angle for production, then folds back against the wall or fence when you need the space back. That makes it useful for gardens, walkways, patios, fence lines, flower beds and other areas where a fixed panel would get in the way.

If it is mounted over a flower bed, you can fold the panel back to tend to the garden. If it is beside a path or walkway, you can retract it to allow access. If it is mounted near grass, it can be folded back for mowing and maintenance.

Fence & wall mount prices from £250

The retractable fence and wall solar mount starts from £250, depending on the panel size, fixing surface, mounting method, gas strut arrangement and whether any custom changes are needed.

Gas strut assisted opening.

Full-size solar panels are not light, especially when mounted on a strong steel frame. The gas struts are designed to make opening and closing the system feel controlled and manageable.

Instead of lifting the full weight of the panel every time, the struts help support the movement as the panel folds out and folds back.

The complete bracket system weighs around 20kg before the panel is fitted, giving the structure a solid and heavy duty feel rather than behaving like a lightweight temporary frame.

  • Gas struts assist opening and closing
  • Designed around practical UK solar angles
  • Full-size panel support
  • Heavy duty galvanised steel frame
  • Stainless and aluminium hardware
  • Suitable for microinverter-based plug-in solar style systems

Designed for fence posts and suitable walls.

The fence version is designed around standard UK fence post spacing, typically around 2 metres between posts. The frame fixes back to two structural points rather than simply hanging from fence boards.

When mounted to a wall, the structure changes slightly so the supporting frame sits fully behind the solar panel. Unlike the fence version, the support frame does not need to overhang the edges of the panel, giving a much cleaner appearance from the front.

The microinverter can mount neatly behind the panel within the frame itself, helping keep the installation tidy, compact and better suited to a modern plug-in solar style setup.

Made from industrial materials.

This is not a lightweight decorative garden bracket. The system is built using galvanised steel sections with stainless and aluminium components selected for outdoor use and long-term durability.

The aim is to bring industrial style mounting hardware into a cleaner domestic product suitable for modern plug-in solar installations.

Each system is prepared and cut to length before shipping to reduce assembly work on site. In most cases the final assembly only requires basic tools such as:

  • Socket set
  • Adjustable spanner
  • Allen keys

Standard kits & custom options.

The main system is designed around standard modern full-size solar panels and typical UK fence post spacing, allowing complete mounting kits to be prepared for straightforward installation.

Standard kits are intended for common full-size panel sizes. Custom versions can also be produced for different panel dimensions, mounting locations and installation requirements.

  • Standard full-size panel kits
  • Fence-mounted versions
  • Wall-mounted versions
  • Custom panel size options
  • Different fixing and mounting configurations
  • Suitable for microinverter-based plug-in solar systems
