Disclaimer
PluginSolarHub provides practical general information about UK plug-in solar. It is not a substitute for a site-specific electrical inspection, legal advice, insurance advice or formal product certification.
Use the site to understand the issues and make better decisions, not as a certificate that your particular home or product is safe.
General information
Articles are written for general educational purposes and cannot take account of the condition of every electrical installation, every product revision or every individual property.
Electrical work
Where fixed electrical work is required, it should be designed, installed, inspected, tested and certified by somebody competent to carry out that work and through the appropriate notification route where applicable.
Product compliance
Where PluginSolarHub reviews manufacturer documents or describes a product as having evidence of compliance, that is an independent document review based on the information available at the time.
It is not UKCA/CE certification, an accredited conformity assessment, an ENA approval, a warranty or a guarantee that every unit placed on the market is compliant.
Future paid reports and tools
If PluginSolarHub offers paid homeowner checks, G98 assistance, manufacturer gap analysis or retailer tools, the scope and limitations of those services will be stated clearly.
A remote suitability report cannot replace an EICR, electrical certificate, structural survey or physical inspection where one is required.
Regulations change
Plug-in solar rules, network procedures, supplier policies and product documentation can change. Pages are updated when new evidence becomes available, but users should still check the current requirements applying when they install or buy.
External links and manufacturers
Links to government, manufacturers, retailers or other organisations are provided for context. Their inclusion does not mean PluginSolarHub endorses every statement or product on those sites.
Commercial relationships
Any sponsorship, referral arrangement, paid listing or commercial service will be disclosed where relevant. Payment will not be treated as evidence that a product meets the technical rules.
Bottom line: the site is here to make the UK plug-in solar market easier to understand. Final responsibility for a product rests with the manufacturer and seller, and final responsibility for electrical installation work rests with the people carrying out that work.
